Festive Fair at the Library
The panel had been working with and promoting Croydon Library services, we managed to get Purley Library specially opened on a Saturday to hold a Festive Fair. The Fair promoted library services, we held a festive children’s rhymetime, had children’s Christmas crafts, local authors visited and we had free taster sessions in conjunction with ‘Croydon Adult Learning And Training’ (CALAT) in floristry, art history and German.
We also had our first art workshop ‘Purley Patchwork’ at the Festive Fair, with our chosen artist Hanna Benihoud, whom we had commissioned to do our High Street Art work. The workshop was a patchwork theme and all visitors to the library on this day were invited to get involved.
