1st Purley Panel Meeting
1st Purley Panel Meeting
The very first Purley Panel Meeting was held on the 24th of September, this was the first opportunity for panel members to meet each other (virtually) and was chaired by Local Councillor Simon Hoar.
The meeting started with welcome by Councillor Hoar and panel member introductions, this was followed by an introduction to the Purley Regeneration Framework project by Diana Piri-Witty from Croydon Councils Regeneration team. The role of the Panel was then discussed and an outline of project progress to date was delivered by Stephanie Edwards from Urban Symbiotics (Consultant team responsible for delivering the Purley Regeneration Framework). Stephanie then led discussions on the up and coming community Survey with panel members suggesting that they could use their networks to support the distribution of the survey to the wider community.
Finally, the launch of the website was discussed along with next steps.
A big thank you to all those who attended and as is becoming common when we engage with people in Purley the community spirit and willingness to collaborate to make Purley the best it can be was evident throughout the meeting.
It is with great sadness that David Garfield, who was participating on the panel has sadly passed away, we would like to send his friends and family our condolences, his passion for the local community and advocate for young people always shone through and will be missed.
